Soaking Process
Corn kernels are soaked in sulfurous acid (an aqueous solution of sulfur dioxide) at a specific temperature and concentration for over 50 hours. After soaking, the corn kernels are removed, and the remaining liquid—without corn kernels—is referred to as “corn steep liquor.” -
Ultrafiltration

Lime Milk Reaction
The permeate is then reacted with lime milk (calcium hydroxide solution), resulting in an upper clear liquid and a lower precipitate. Drying Process
